Drum Percussion lessons are geared toward the student’s individual musical interests while focusing on technique and musicality. Students will learn rudimentary drumming techniques, listening skills, coordination between hands and feet on the drum-set, as well as many different styles of music, including: Rock, Jazz, Latin, Funk, and Brazilian styles.
Materials for Drum Percussion Lessons: At home, students do not necessarily have to have a drum or drum-set when they begin lessons, but having a Practice Pad is essential. Our Drum teacher recommends HQ Percussion’s “RealFeel” pad. The student will need to have sticks. The Drum teacher recommends purchasing a pair of Vic Firth’s SD1 General sticks. Finally, the student must have a metronome – any brand will do, including free smartphone metronome apps.
