Preschool/Kindergarten Students Perform in Summer Recital

10 Students ages 4-5 performed on piano and violin at a summer recital at The Music Connection of Orland Park August 12 at 9:00AM.

“All of these students have played piano or violin for just less than one year,” said director Janet Kuester. “Most of our students take one group class and one private lesson per week,” she added.

“Students all take violin or piano using Suzuki Method.  When we teach Suzuki method, children learn through rote and imitation to play music they hear. They learn reading and rhythmic skills separately at first. Parents attend lessons with their children and practice with them at home. We use games and activities to make lessons and practices fun for the children as they develop their musical skills and love of the instrument,” stated Mrs. Kuester.

“This recital was followed with our favorite cookies,” Mrs. Kuester added. “We voted on our favorite cookie and chocolate chip won!”
